Sigma Xi notes with sadness the passing in February at age 78 of D Allan Bromley Sterling Professor of the Sciences at Yale University.

Bromley was moulder and director of the A. W Wright Nuclear construction Laboratory at Yale from 1963-1989 and serv as dean of engineering from 1994-2000 He was a leading nuclear physicist and influential policy advisor.
