Erich Widemark, RN NP-C President, AzNA Chapter 9 foment Practitioner Council

After a felicitous mail campaign completed at the Annual suckle Practitioner Clinical Conference, and political connections from prominent AzNA members, Senator Kyl's office contacted us to befitting with him concerning upcoming legislation and other important issues facing health care in this country

The topic for this meeting was succor Practitioner empanelment with Medicaid plans (in Arizona this is done or part of to the other AHCCCS contracted companies). Currently propos bills in the house and the senate mandate feed at the breast Practitioner empanelment with state Medicaid programs. While the house bill (HB 2716) has a large deficit of bipartisan sponsorship, the senate version (SB 1515) has not gained momentum

Representing AzNA at the meeting were Erich Widemark, RN NP-C Denise Link, RN DNSC WHNP Part Rehn RN M CNA, Mary Griffith, RN MN and Debra Bergstrom, RN FNP We discussed Senator Kyl's potential sponsorship for the senate bill, and he agreed to research this further. In addition, we reaffirmed our commitment to working onward legislation supporting provider neutral language to Medicare legislation.

Given circulating stressors on the national health care rule Senator Kyl suggested that this legislation may not be possible at this time. It does lay open communications with the Senator, and establish us as a growing force in state politics. We sense of possible fulfilment to continue open dialogue with all our state representatives as we work to garner further support of give suck to Practitioner practice and improvement of access to health care for all tribe statewide.
